Using the Virtual Box Office Merchant Account

Why use our Merchant Account?

Setting up a Merchant Account with a bank can be constly, time-consuming and often difficult, requiring a business plan and financials, which are not always easily available.

To help our customers sell quickly and painlessly, we have made our own Merchant Account available for use.

How secure is it?

SSL Certificate

All credit card transactions are performed using an SSL certificate with 256-bit encryption - this is currently 'best practise'. For those not technically minded, that means all credit card data is encrypted, and customers can see this via the padlock in their web browser.

Your visitors and customers will see both the logo to the right, as well as the traditional "padlock" in their web browser. (Note the location of the padlock varies between Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari and other popular browsers)

How do we get our funds?

Bank Transfer

Virtual Box Office can automatically transfer the funds received from ticket sales on a Monthly basis. For larger event, or where special arrangements have been made, this can be increased to Weekly.

To avoid having to individually invoice for any fees, we will deduct our fees from these funds prior to transfer.

  • Monthly funds transfers
  • Fees deducted automatically
  • Comprehensive transaction summary provided with transfer

Funds can only be transferred via EFT to a nominated Australian Bank account.

What does it cost?

How much does it cost?

The fees for using the Virtual Box Office Merchant Account are very simple:

  • No set-up or establishment fees
  • No monthly fees
  • No monthly or weekly funds transfer fees
  • 0c per order
  • 3.0% of order total

To help our customers sell quickly and painlessly, we have made our own Merchant Account available for us.

Customer Credit Card Details

We do not, at any time throughout the ordering process, store any customer debit or credit card numbers, in any form, for any reason.

To help identity troublesome and disputed transactions, we do store the first 6 and last 4 digits of credit cards used, and the expiry date - this is a defacto industry standard that we follow.
